We have so many fears and anxieties moving around us. We wish and ought to do so much that missing out on something essentially important makes us go hayway. Like talking to your valuable clients, reverting to someone on time, paying our dues, giving time to our loved ones, ourselves and the unending list both on the domestic and personal areas. Now why do we fear things so much of course we are afraid of losing something if we skip or forget something- we can get penalized, it can cost our work, job or business, loved ones will distance from us, life will become dull. We measure our intensity of fear on the basis of the negative consequences we will face in the event of not doing something and to what extent it affects us.
We humans tend to avoid so many things in our lifetime which we consider doesn’t affect us or may be this is just a reflection of our short vision that we fail to see long term consequences of our deliberate ‘No’ or procrastination. But no matter how many excuses we pile up in front of others and even ourselves our conscience knows the hidden truth behind it. We easily get swayed away by the moments which are dear to us and thus leave out the things which are truly essential for us in the long run. One such thing is our exercise, our yoga. For those who haven’t tasted this awesome elixir might not understand its mighty power but those who have had ecstatic encounters as a result of this practice can surely understand what it is not to do yoga. The practitioners who regularly revere this communion of body and soul can experience void and something that makes them feel incomplete.
When we do yoga we are appreciating our soul, mind and body by relaxing, pampering and reviving them each day. We are giving time to a very important people who keep us going good all through the day and against the most awful situations. The regular yoga practitioners fear halting yoga because if they stop the transformational process, they will lose that body alignment, rhythm of breath and flow of positivity in their mind. Moreover the quest to touch the higher levels of consciousness will never get fulfilled. The self -discovery of each day will become self –mystery. It is fine to take a break of a day from practice but breaking from practice is detrimental to us. Our body starts showing signs of stress and pain, our mind seems to lose its quality of clarity and calm and composed state, slowed down thought process and our soul yearning for peace and contentment in our present situations.
Why it happens because the synchronization, the harmony yoga is meant to provide gets altered and interrupted. First we understand ourselves our mind, body and soul, then we sort the plus side and minuses of our personality, then we bring out the dormant energies within which allows our body, mind and soul to work synergistically in transforming us into a better being. Yoga is beneficial only when it is done completely and not in parts which includes breath, asanas and meditation and more broadly a good lifestyle. If we do things attentively, mindfully and with a positive intent we can never have fear of missing out on anything because we are incorporating yoga in our lifestyle which will result in better interactions and positive outcomes. This is one more aspect of yoga which many of us ignore.
I think this is a constructive fear which makes us move towards attaining holistic health and prosperity and connecting to our true selves and consequently with infinity.
