Integration Of Yoga, Ayurveda And Naturopathy In Lifestyle

The contemporary world is experiencing pandemic of lifestyle disorders that call for consistent and conscious lifestyle changes by individuals themselves. Alternative therapies like yoga, Ayurveda and Naturopathy are gaining momentum with lifestyle interventions at the core. They have the potential in the prevention, management, and rehabilitation of several and even chronic lifestyle disorders.

Both “being” healthy as well as “feeling” healthy are equally important. The yogic way of living is a vital tool that helps attain a holistic “state” of health. Hence, the qualitative aspect of health, the spiritual nature of human life, is rightly considered more important in yoga and other Indian systems of traditional medicine.

Yogic lifestyle, yogic diet, yogic attitudes, and various yogic practices help humans to strengthen themselves and develop positive health, thus enabling them to withstand turbulent situations both physical and psychological.

Ayurveda is a comprehensive system of natural health care that dates back to Vedic times. Its prime emphasis is on the prevention of disease and maintaining health apart from the treatment of disease. It is not only a medicinal system but an overall lifestyle with multiple health benefits.

Ayurveda along with yoga and meditation aims for total mind and body wellness. Their principles can be integrated into our daily life with a little adjustment that allows stress-free and healthy life.

Naturopathy is a distinct type of primary care medicine that blends age-old healing traditions with scientific advances. Naturopathic medicine is a science-based tradition that promotes wellness by identifying the unique aspects of each patient and then employing non-toxic natural therapies to restore physiological, psychological, and structural balance.

Though researches are still on to unearth the depth and efficacy of alternative treatments and vast number of researches have generated evidence that shows the effectiveness of alternative healing in psychological and physical issues. Thus bringing them into mainstream healthcare and combining them with conventional medicine is being sought in order to maximize and optimize healthcare solutions and empower people to live a healthy life. Moreover, the preventive and empowering aspect of these natural therapies is the most acknowledged by healthcare experts.
