Yoga is considered as panacea to all ailments and a doorway to achieve holistic well -being be it mental, physical or spiritual. It unifies and integrates the mind, body and soul awakening our entire system towards consciousness. Swami Kuvalyananda in 1924, took the onus of presenting before the world the therapeutic view of yoga by starting Kaivalyadhama movement and later founded Rugna Seva Mandir – an intervention of therapeutic yoga in healing.

The constant endeavors of ancient yoga teachers and written literature introduced yoga to the world. To empower people to overcome the psychological and physiological threats owing to IT and Globalization, fundamental and applied research into yoga needs to be conducted simultaneously. Moreover a unanimous participation of health bodies, governments, people associated with medical and yoga fields and the people in general should work to explore the tremendous potential yoga has to transform lives.

Why attend this Conference? 

This conference is aimed at developing the opportunity for scientific scrutiny of yoga techniques as regards their therapeutic use for the benefit users, researchers, practitioners, industries and common people. The conference outcomes are expected to harness the potential of yoga in the interest of public health. The evidences thus generated will help in propagating the rational use, clinical application and mainstreaming of yoga techniques in effective treatment procedures.

Objectives

1.    To explore all creative fronts to conceive and implement joint action plans towards well designed and executed research in therapeutic yoga, consistently, for years to come.
2.    To facilitate in-depth deliberations towards refining our understanding of Yoga as Therapy and thus acquiring an insight into its psychophysiological efficacy
3.    To help discover and deliberate in forging a workable unanimity regarding the nature and modes of implementation of authentic quality control in different modes of instructions in Yoga as Therapy in the light of basic principles of yoga so that yoga can be fully tapped with all its authentic effects as an effective therapeutic tool.
4.    To encourage creative minds to guide us in developing instructions and treatment procedures with respect to Yoga as Therapy on prioritized disorders .
5.    To discover and encourage all efforts at validation of therapeutic interventions of yoga.
6.    To make scientific exploration with interdisciplinary approaches in achieving need based outcome in priority areas such as NCDs, Psychiatric and Stress related Disorders.
7.    To help unleash the creative synergies of speakers and participants into discovering and evolving scientifically sound, yet traditionally correct Yoga interventions for their therapeutic use.
8.    To help enhance understanding of fundamentals of Yoga as Therapy, resulting from deliberations of the scientists and yoga experts of eminence that in all probabilities would stimulate both fundamental and applied research into Yoga as Therapy and thus give an impetus to further evolution of Authentic Yoga.
9.    To take a step towards standardization and evolution of yoga techniques based on instructions and effects available in ancient literature and living traditions on one hand and corroboration of the same with scientific methods, on the other.
