Patanjali’s “Yoga Sutras” (PYS) forms the basic text of Yoga Philosophy. Yoga distinguishes itself as a philosophy in that it is not only a view but also a way of life. Each of the 195 sutras in the text has a practical aspect attached to it. The sutras embody a rich treasure of incomparable significance. Therefore, firstly, it is thrilling to understand the sutras, and secondly, putting them into practice is life-transforming.
Patanjali is a brilliant psychologist, par excellence. Today, when Psycho-somatic ailments account for more than 90% of physical ailments, the relevance of the Yoga Sutras cannot be overemphasized and can be undoubtedly considered as a panacea for the ills afflicting modern human life.
