how bhagavad gita serves the modern world

“Those who meditate on the Gita will derive fresh joy and new meanings from it every day.”

— Mahatma Gandhi

Those are spiritual things to reflect upon yourself, life, the world around you and see things another way, I thought it was quite appropriate.” – Sunita Williams On taking Bhagavad Gita into space.

From Mahatma Gandhi to Albert Einstein to Sunita Williams- Bhagavad Gita has served itself as a source of timeless wisdom.

In today’s world, there are no real physical battles to be fought. The text only represents the internal war that rages within our minds which ultimately determines whether or not we will succeed at living a life of integrity and purpose. Bhagavad Gita speaks to anyone who ever feels as though their mind has become a Kurukshetra!

To get the most out of Bhagavad Gita, it is crucial to keep in mind what each character symbolizes.

Arjuna: He represents you and me with every fear, doubt, and uncertainty that stops us from realizing our true selves.

The Pandavas: the goodness and morality within us.

The Kauravas: the negative forces within us.

Krishna: the ‘higher consciousness’

The Chariot: our physical being.

The Horses: our five senses that require control from the Self for us to reach a state of self-realization.
