"Those who meditate on the Gita will derive fresh joy and new meanings from it every day."
-- Mahatma Gandhi

Those are spiritual things to reflect upon yourself, life, the world around you and see things another way, I thought it was quite appropriate." – Sunita Williams On taking Bhagavad Gita into space.

From Mahatma Gandhi to Albert Einstein to Sunita Williams- Bhagavad Gita has served itself as a source of timeless wisdom.

In today's world, there are no real physical battles to be fought. The text only represents the internal war that rages within our minds which ultimately determines whether or not we will succeed at living a life of integrity and purpose. Bhagavad Gita speaks to anyone who ever feels as though their mind has become a Kurukshetra!

To get the most out of Bhagavad Gita, it is crucial to keep in mind what each character symbolizes.

Arjuna: He represents you and me with every fear, doubt, and uncertainty that stops us from realizing our true selves.

The Pandavas: the goodness and morality within us.

The Kauravas: the negative forces within us.

Krishna: the ‘higher consciousness’

The Chariot: our physical being.

The Horses: our five senses that require control from the Self for us to reach a state of self-realization.

Bhagavad-Gita is like a handbook handed down by the supreme lord, Krishna that shows us how to live our lives best and derive real joy from them. Truthfully speaking, the Bhagavad Gita isn't something we need if we feel unhappy or unfulfilled. It is rather something we need when we feel out of place in this world - like an old friend!

The Bhagavad Gita guides us through the importance of living life with purity, strength, and integrity. This sacred text allows us to be one with our Highest Self;  which in turn, allows us to meet difficult situations and decisions without fear or doubt.

This Gita Jayanti, we are hosting an enlightening discussion about Bhagavad Gita between three renowned Yoga scholars from three generations. Each will share their favorite verses from the scripture and give insight into their impact on their respective generations--thus proving that Gita is a pearl of timeless wisdom!
