Balance, Postural Control, and Falls in Older Adults
The fear of falls and poor health take away the peace from one’s restful years. Over the age of 65, people experience lack of balance and neuro-muscular atrophy causing falls distressingly often. Yet, this can well be prevented with the right toolkit of Yoga - ensuring a poised rhythm in later life. This specialised course is open to all Yoga and Wellness Instructors. This program will equip you to teach and aid a broader audience with right sequence, as this program has Lecture Sessions and Practical Training that will tune you as an instructor to work with senior citizens and their postural issues.

Our mortality rate is higher than ever, so, as we live longer, our health seeks out better care. In the advanced ages, how we move and how often are of great importance. Yoga, with its refined modules of mindfulness in movement and breath-work, bring harmony in them besides also building strength, facilitate balance and garner more flexibility. The program will offer neuro musculoskeletal system and in depth postural discussion for Supine and Recovery Postures, Internal Rotation of the Hip, Strengthening the VMO , etc

PROPS REQUIREMENT DURING THE THREE DAY SESSION:
1) Plain Wall or Backdrop of a few cupboards so that the balance of the posture can be held
2) 2 Yoga blocks - either Wooden or Cork
3) 1 Long Yoga Strap/Belt
4) Yoga chair or any Dining chair available at home
5) Yoga bolster or a thick pillow
Each session will deal with one element and will comprise the following,
- Theory lecture on the element of the day, along with its impact on body, mind, and life.
- Recommendations on which asana to practice to work on specific elements.
- Understanding how the elements work together through our body systems and the Prana Vayus.
